The International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2026 Inspection Workshop, originally planned for March 24-26 in Cyprus. We know many Members had already made travel plans, and whilst we share your disappointment, the safety and well-being of participants was the primary concern in reaching this conclusion.
We are working closely with the Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board (CyPAOB) to reschedule the Workshop for February 2-4, 2027, with more details available soon. In the meantime, IFIAR's Inspection Workshop Working Group (IWWG) will consider whether some sessions can be adapted to be offered online. Still, we recognize that virtual options cannot replace the value of IFIAR’s annual in-person Inspection Workshop, a cornerstone gathering for inspectors to exchange experiences, developments, and best practices.
This Workshop was also meant to mark the end of Askin Akbulut's term as Chair of IFIAR’s IWWG. Although we regret missing the opportunity to recognize his extensive contributions over the past six years in person at the Workshop, we look forward to doing so at the next opportunity.
