On 10 and 11 March 2026, the Committee of European Auditing Oversight Bodies (CEAOB) held its 30th plenary meeting in Brussels.
The Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board (CyPAOB), was represented by the Director General, Mr. Panos Prodromides, Board Member, Mrs. Ioanna Achilleos Zavitsanaki and Audit regulators Kyriaki Andreou and Rafailia Stylianou.
During the meeting, members discussed key developments and shared updates on several important topics, including:
▪️Adoption of the 2025 CEAOB annual report
▪️Update by the Chair of the Observer Task Force (TF) on its ongoing work
▪️Updates from two CEAOB members on the progress and current status of their peer review
▪️Discussion of the written response to the European Commission (EC) in the context of the Commission’s stakeholder consultation on a potential initiative to strengthen audit supervision within the EU
▪️Discussion on the latest developments concerning the Public Interest Oversight Board | PIOB and standard-setting governance
▪️Discussion on the stakeholder engagement priorities for 2026–2027
▪️ Presentation and discussion on consistent regulatory approaches to CSRD assurance across Member States
▪️Presentation from the EC on the Savings and Investments Union (SIU) strategy
▪️ Updates by sub-group chairs on their ongoing work.
