Mr. Panos Prodromides, Director General, together with Mr. Stelios Kountouris and Mrs. Vicky Aristidou, Board Members, represented the Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board (CyPAOB) at the 2026 Plenary Meeting of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR), held in Paris from 21–23 April, marking the 20th anniversary of IFIAR since its establishment in 2006.
The meeting brought together independent audit regulators from over 50 jurisdictions, fostering collaboration, sharing key insights, and strengthening synergies to enhance audit quality and address emerging trends in the audit market.
During this insightful meeting, participants engaged with experts, chairs of standard-setting bodies, and CEOs of the Big 6 networks through keynote, breakout, and panel sessions on critical topics, including:
• the growing significance of artificial intelligence and technology in audit
• alternative investment models in audit firms
• developments in sustainability assurance across IFIAR’s membership
